Phono Solar, a global leading strategic renewable energy provider, founded by SUMEC Group Corporation and a member of SINOMACH, announced that China National Electric Apparatus Research Institute (CEI) has joined with Phono Solar forces on outdoor test system in the extreme hydrothermal weather conditions of the Hainan Province.

Phono Solar and CEI signed a five-year cooperation agreement, which includes the development of an outdoor PV power plant test area with supporting technical meteorological monitoring equipment. This 3KW small-scale PV system will consist of a combination of multiple types of Phono Solar modules, covering monocrystalline, polycrystalline, dual-glass and black silicon modules. The effect of the natural hot and humid environment is monitored and measured in durability and power generation of each type of PV module.

Beginning of 2016, another system will be installed in Turpan, China’s Death Valley, Xinjiang. At 154m below sea level, Turpan is the second-lowest depression in the world and the hottest spot in China. The effects of the dry and hot desert environment on this larger PV power plant will also be measured on durability and power generation of the individual panels.

RUI Chunbao, the vice general manager of Phono Solar states that: “this cooperation with CEI, China National Electric Apparatus Research Institute, provides Phono Solar not only with precious and detailed data of real extreme PV power plant environments, and the information for optimization and prediction of power generation of PV modules. It also provides reliable technical support for further improvement of the quality of photovoltaic products of SUMEC Phono Solar.”
